A warm, play-based home for tamariki in Mount Albert.

Little Dudes Childcare Centre is a mainstream education & care service offering flexible full-day or part-day childcare with a balanced early learning programme.

Our story

Small centre, big-hearted teaching.

Little Dudes Childcare is a warm and welcoming early childhood education and care service in Mount Albert, currently enrolling children aged 2 to 6 years.
Our centre reflects the rich diversity of our community, with children from Asian, European, Māori, Pacific, and many other cultural backgrounds. Over the years, we have become a trusted home away from home for families across Mount Albert and the surrounding areas.
We believe strong relationships are the foundation of learning. Our caring, experienced teachers create a nurturing, play-based environment where children feel safe, valued, and understood, giving them the confidence to explore, grow, and develop independence, creativity, resilience, and a lifelong love of learning.

Our mission

At Little Dudes, we foster an inclusive, culturally responsive learning community where every child is valued and supported to reach their potential. Guided by the understanding that children are competent, capable learners, we design meaningful experiences that build on their interests, strengths, and emerging abilities. Responsive, respectful relationships with children, families, and the wider community underpin our practice, promoting collaboration and shared responsibility for learning.

Our vision

Guided by our mission statement, our vision is to create a place where every child feels a deep sense of belonging, a place where hearts are nurtured, minds are inspired, and bright futures begin.

Grounded in big-hearted Whāriki.

We believe every child is a taonga – a precious gift, with the potential to thrive. We see each child as capable, confident, and competent learners, bringing their own unique strengths, interests, culture, and personality. Our role is to nurture, inspire, and empower every child to grow into the very best version of themselves.
We are committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi and embracing the principles, strands, and goals of Te Whāriki, New Zealand’s Early Childhood Curriculum. We celebrate te ao Māori and value the diverse cultures, languages, identities, and traditions of every child and whānau, creating a place where everyone is welcomed, respected, and truly belongs.
Together with our whānau, we strive to create a place where children are inspired to dream, encouraged to shine, empowered to embrace who they are, and supported to become compassionate, resilient, lifelong learners who can make a positive difference in the world.
